Samantha Levine

Educational Background

Samantha Levine earned a Master of Science degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University's Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR). She is a 1997 graduate of the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science and was also editor-in-chief of the College newspaper, The Flat Hat.

Professional Experiences

From 1997 to 2006, Samantha was a professional journalist in the Washington, D.C., area. She covered local government for The Free Lance-Star newspaper in Fredericksburg, Va., and federal regulatory affairs for Kiplinger’s Business Forecasts in Washington, D.C. From 2001 to 2005, Samantha covered homeland security, politics, education, and breaking news for U.S. News & World Report magazine in Washington, D.C. After the magazine, Samantha spent nearly two years covering the Texas Congressional delegation for The Houston Chronicle. During her time as a reporter, Samantha was interviewed on several local and national television and radio news programs.

Samantha entered the ICAR program to explore the fields of organizational and workplace conflict. She is a certified General District Court mediator for the state of Virginia, and is also certified in mediating workplace and Equal Employment Opportunity disputes.

Personal Interests

In her spare time, Samantha enjoys a range of activities, including hiking, quilting, jewelry-making, pottery, and volunteering in communities across the Washington metro area.
