Entrepreneurship
After entering the workforce with a nationwide homebuilder, Richard entered the residential mortgage industry as a loan officer in 1993 and quickly gained a reputation as an expert through a rigorous commitment to continuing education, training and development. His success in the field resulted in continued promotions in Sales Management throughout his lending career. Richard earned the mortgage industry’s highest designation, Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) from the Mortgage Bankers Association in October of 2006. The CMB designation represents the pinnacle of professional success and the highest level of industry knowledge and education.
Richard also holds several professional licenses including Licensed Mortgage Broker in Florida as well as Life, Health & Variable Annuities licenses in Florida, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Arizona. He has held production and leadership positions with several large corporations in the banking industry. Richard has been the President of French Financial Group, Inc., a financial services company since 2000 and was recognized as a Finalist in the Broward County “Up & Comers” Awards in 2002 in the category of Finance.
Industry & Civic Leadership
Richard served as President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Broward County, and was also on the Board of Governors of the MBA of Florida, as well as served on the National Loan Production Committee for the Mortgage Bankers Association of America. Currently, he is a Board member and Legislative Co-Chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County.
Richard’s civic involvement includes serving on the Educational Advisory Board for the City of Parkland, FL, past-President of his homeowners association and Board member of the Tower Forum. Richard is an active alumnus of Leadership Broward (Class XXV).
Mentoring Experience
Richard’s work in the field of personal transformation began in 1991 and has been facilitating leadership programs, seminars and workshops throughout the United States since 1997. He served as a Classroom Representative for Junior Achievement for five years as well as the Director of Program for the Hugh O’Brien Youth Foundation in South Florida for five years. Richard is a Past President of the Board of Directors of FuturePoint, a Broward non-profit committed to empowering teenagers through personal empowerment and currently serves as Vice-Chair of Youth Leadership Broward Class XXII.
Personal Interests
A native of northern New Jersey, Richard is a life-long NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. He moved to South Florida in 1985 where he currently resides in the suburb of Parkland with his wife Joanne and two daughters, Alyssa and Jillian. He finds his center by spending time with his kids, playing the guitar, reading, entertaining friends at home and quiet dinners out with his wife.
