Educational Background

Francis Jay Caputo is a graduate of George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia where he earned a Master of Science Degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution and served as Co-chair for ICARʼs Public Policy Working Group. His undergraduate work culminated in earning a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he served on the Board of Directors for the Zeta Phi Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, and was a member of the Financial Management Association. Additionally, Jay earned the equivalent of a second baccalaureate degree by completing requirements to earn teaching certification in Secondary Education Social Sciences from the Florida Department of Education.

Professional Experiences

Jay’s professional development spans over 20 years and includes experiences within the financial services, educational, and personal/professional training & coaching industries.  Early in his career, he was twice recognized as the youngest consultant within a financial services firm to receive awards for outstanding achievement in sales.

Jay background in youth education and training includes 5 years as a high school teacher in the greater Ft. Lauderdale area. His initiative allowed him to teach a variety of social science courses, including Philosophy and World Religions, as well as coach high school basketball. In addition to being in the classroom and on the court, Jay has instructed thousands of teenagers from across the globe by serving as a director and faculty member of the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) at American University in Washington D.C. and Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.

For the past 8 years, Jay has worked as a Corporate Trainer and Executive Coach for successful organizations across all industries throughout the U.S. He has designed and delivered curriculums in professional communication, management, conflict resolution, team-building, sales & marketing, and leadership. Jay is also a certified mediator in Virginia and Maryland specializing in conflict coaching for internal organizational disputes. His clients range from small business owners to Fortune 1000 management teams, as well as directors and other key personnel within various government agencies.

Civic Involvement

Jay’s participation with charitable organizations includes serving for 5 years on the Board of Directors, including one year as Chairperson, for the South Florida Site of the renowned Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Foundation (HOBY).

Jay currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Providence Foundation of Law & Leadership, in Denver, CO, a non-profit organization that seeks to empower students to excel in advocacy and leadership through intense training sessions, educational presentations, and community support.

Personal Interests

In his spare time, Jay enjoys being with his family and exploring creative writing as well as amateur film-making. He takes care of his physical, mental, and spiritual health through aikido training, yoga, meditation, and various outdoor activities including running, hiking, and white-water rafting.
